About Caterpillar Red

Who we are

At times sourcing the “right part” is often harder than designing the project! If you’re an engineer, you don’t want to waste time hunting through endless listings. Or if you’re a DIY enthusiast, you want confidence you’re buying the correct item.

Caterpillar Red started with polymer parts because they solve real problems: they don’t rust, they’re lightweight, and they’re often the sensible choice where metal causes issues (especially corrosion).

Over time we built Caterpillar Red around a simple idea: make specialist parts easy to find, easy to specify, and easy to buy — in small quantities or on a long-term supply plan.

We’ve also , for example, built a lot of material knowledge along the way, because with polymers the details matter, PMMA, PC, Nylons and Glass-Filled (GF-50%), POM, PEEK, PVDF, PTFE/other fluorinated materials, PVC, PP, PEI, and MXD6/RENY.

If you want to see the level we go to, have a look at our materials articles.

And the product range grew, so did our willingness to branch out. A good example is our USB presentation boxes: they began as packaging we used ourselves to present information to clients on a USB flash drive — then customers wanted to buy the USB box too! That is a pattern you will find across our catalogue: if our products solve a problem, we’ll make it easy to source again and again.

What we do

Our core focus is polymer fasteners and polymer hinges, but you’ll also find complementary hardware and accessories that customers request, often for the same project.

We also found ourselves quickly specialising in polymer hinges, including continuous/piano-style hinge solutions designed to keep installs simple and tidy — and in many cases no-drill installs (3M Tape).

If you already know what you need, a product link or SKU gets you there quickly. If you’re still deciding, the product filters and the Help Hub content are designed to guide you to the closest match. At any point you can send us the link/SKU plus any relevant details and we’ll help you choose.

Bolt head styles can get confusing fast. If you want a quick guide, here’s our head style article. Head Styles Difference

We care a lot about the buying experience. Customer feedback is a real input into how we improve product info and instructions — and our store highlights a 4.9 star average across customer feedback.

What we can do

Client projects don’t always fit neatly into a single product listing. After all, bolt heads and sizes can multiply into huge option sets quickly (different head styles, materials, colours/finishes, lengths, packs, and kits). That’s why Caterpillar Red is set up to support both one-off orders and procurement workflows, including purchase orders.

We have a big “matrix” of options and it’s not realistic to list them all. Across head styles, materials, sizes and lengths, there are 100,000+ possible combinations. If you can’t find what you need, contact us.

Quotes for standard, bulk, or custom parts
If you cannot find the exact combination you need, that doesn’t mean it’s unavailable! Send us the product link or SKU and your quantities, and we’ll quote: standard catalogue items, volume tiers, custom sizes/colours/materials, and even kitting/labelling where needed. Request a Quote

Call-off stock
If you’re building a longer-term supply plan, we can support call-off ordering. We can stock the items for you and release stock as you need it. We take care of the replenishing.
