Finding the right part is often harder than designing the project. Engineers don’t want to hunt through endless listings, and makers want to be sure they’re buying the correct item.
Caterpillar Red started with polymer parts because they solve real problems: they don’t rust, they’re light, and they’re often the sensible choice where metal causes trouble.
We built the business around one simple idea: make specialist parts easy to find, easy to specify and easy to buy — whether you need a single pack or a long-term supply.
With polymers the details matter, so we’ve built up a lot of material knowledge along the way: PMMA, PC, nylons and glass-filled (GF-50%) grades, POM, PEEK, PVDF, PTFE and other fluoropolymers, PVC, PP, PEI and MXD6. Our materials articles show the level we go to.

Materials background
Our range grew the same way. Our USB presentation boxes began as packaging we used ourselves to present information to clients on a USB flash drive — then customers asked to buy the boxes too. That’s a pattern across the catalogue: when something solves a problem, we make it easy to order again and again.
Our distribution centre is at Unit B, 429-431 Wick Lane, London E3 2JG; our head office is in Brighton.
What we do
Our core range is polymer fasteners and polymer hinges, alongside the hardware and accessories customers ask for on the same projects.
Hinges are a speciality: continuous (piano) hinges designed to keep installation simple and tidy — many fit without drilling, using self-adhesive tape.

What we can do
Client projects don’t always fit neatly into a single product listing. After all, bolt heads and sizes can multiply into huge option sets quickly (different head styles, materials, colours/finishes, lengths, packs, and kits).
