M5 x 1000mm

One metre of M5 thread gives substantially more stock for long spacing runs and custom cut lengths. These 1000mm rods are available in natural PA66 nylon or white PTFE, both with a 0.8mm pitch.

Is a full metre the right starting point?

Use the 1000mm format when the assembly needs an uninterrupted threaded span or when several smaller M5 sections will be cut from one length. Compare the two materials before finalising the rod rather than treating them as interchangeable.
