The M14 x 500mm category contains white PTFE studding with a continuous 2.0mm-pitch thread across the half-metre length, giving a mid-length option between the 200mm and 1000mm formats.

What does 500mm add over the shorter rod?

Half a metre gives more working thread for longer spacers and mounting runs, or enough stock to produce several shorter M14 pieces. It also avoids starting with a full metre where that additional material is not needed.
