Introduction
Caterpillar Red ships from the UK to customers worldwide every day, with economy, express, and timed delivery options designed to support real engineering and procurement deadlines.
Urgent orders are typically best placed before 1pm (UK time), and if you have a tight deadline you can contact us and we’ll do what we can to get the order out even after the cut-off – 01273 011273 or Whatsapp us on the same number.
Depending on destination, service level, and parcel size, our couriers include Royal Mail, DHL Express, and FedEx . For US addresses, we can also ship via Tracked USPS for standard delivery.
Customs:
Our website is setup so all customs/duties and paperwork is by default handled by us. Nothing to do on your part. However, we have provided information below to explain how we do, what we do!
International shipping isn’t just packing and sending off a parcel! It involves customs clearance, duties/tariffs, and tax handling. On many routes, orders are shipped on a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) basis — meaning duties and taxes are included so you don’t face surprise collection charges at delivery. We also support DDU / DAP style shipping where duties/taxes are not prepaid and are instead collected by local customs/carriers before delivery.
The main difference to consider is who handles import clearance and payment. DDP puts the most responsibility on Caterpillar Red (Us). Including import clearance and import duty/tax payment), while DAP typically delivers to the named place with the buyer handling import clearance and import charges.
Taxes/Duties:
When you choose DDP with us, we complete customs paperwork and arrange duty/tax prepayment with the carrier so parcels clear faster. We usually ask for Tax details so we can directly submit this info to customs, for example, VAT or GST Company numbers. EORI is another requirement for EU business shipping. Some destinations require extra consignee information and we contact the buyer asap for this info to ensure quick shipping.
This is also known as “Door-to-door” in plain terms means we coordinate the shipment from dispatch in the UK through to delivery at your receiving address.
If taxes/duties aren’t prepaid, local customs typically issue a payment request/link before delivery can proceed. Local customs will require contact details for this to occur, this is why we request these details during checkout.
