PA66 nylon gives nuts, bolts and screws a useful combination of strength, low weight and electrical insulation. These fixings suit electrical enclosures, electronics and workshop repairs. Natural and black finishes are available, with head shapes for tool tightening and hand adjustment.

Why use nylon PA66 fasteners?

Nylon provides high wear and impact resistance in a lightweight fixing. It is inherently flexible, non-magnetic and corrosion-free. Its electrical insulation is useful around electrical components, and the non-marring surface helps protect the parts being fastened.

PA66 resists organic solvents, oils and fuels, with moderate resistance to weak acids. It absorbs moisture, and prolonged wet exposure reduces its strength. That needs to be considered when choosing nylon for a damp assembly that places a load on the fixing.

Which nylon fastener type should I choose?

Use a countersunk head for a flush surface, a conventional bolt head for tool tightening, or a winged fixing or thumbscrew for repeated hand adjustment.

  • Hex head bolts take a spanner or socket for enclosure and workshop fastening.
  • Pan cross-head bolts use a screwdriver; socket head bolts take a hex key.
  • Countersunk cross-head bolts sit flush in a matching countersunk hole.
  • Thumbscrews provide a hand grip for panels, covers and access doors.
  • Butterfly nuts and butterfly screws give tool-free tightening for accessible, adjustable joints.
  • Fully threaded rods suit hanging, spacers, standoffs, jigs and fixtures, and can be cut to length.

What nylon fastener sizes and pack quantities are available?

Examples include M24 hex head bolts, M5 and M6 butterfly screws, and natural threaded rods in M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12 and M16. The rods are supplied in packs of two and include 200 mm, 300 mm, 500 mm and 1000 mm lengths.

Butterfly screws come in packs of 50. Size and colour choices include natural M5 x 15 mm and M6 x 15 mm screws, plus natural or black M5 x 20 mm and M6 x 20 mm versions.
