- Acrylic and polycarbonate are similar thermoplastics often used interchangeably. Acrylic gives good strength and UV resistance; polycarbonate gives higher impact and heat resistance.
- Acrylic piano hinges offer smooth opening and closing. They can open to a wide 270° angle. Also known as continuous hinges, full-length hinges.
- The tape is durable and resists weather, moisture and extreme temperatures. Its viscoelastic design gives a strong bond with low visibility after application. Closed-cell technology helps the tape resist solvents.
- Pre-applied translucent double-sided tape provides a strong, pressure-sensitive adhesive bond on contact for immediate handling strength. Just peel off the backing and press onto the surface for smooth, low-visibility fastening.
Product Summary
A piano hinge, also known as a continuous hinge, consists of two equal leaves joined by a pin. Plastic acrylic continuous hinges are a low-profile alternative to metal hinges that require drilling or additional fabrication to install. They offer smooth opening and closing without compromising stability. Polished bevelled edges provide a neat, finished look. Grooves provide a surface for adhesive contact. The pre-applied double-sided, pressure-sensitive tape bonds on contact for immediate handling strength. It can replace mechanical fasteners or aqueous adhesives, eliminating drilling, grinding, refinishing, screwing, welding and clean-up. The hinges are manufactured to high specifications and tolerances using strong materials and quality-controlled production methods.
