- Metric thread with 1 mm pitch; straight slot 1.13 mm wide for a flat-blade screwdriver
- PVC resists acids, alkalis, oils and most inorganic chemicals, and it is water-resistant
- Electrically insulating with high dielectric strength; the chlorine in PVC makes it naturally flame-resistant
- Headless: the screw can sit flush with or just below the surrounding surface when fitted in a tapped hole, for light-duty positioning, spacing and adjustment; also called set screws or headless screws
