PVDF has the rare ferroelectric property of retaining its polarisation when the electric field is removed. PVDF is widely used in applications where high chemical resistance, thermal stability and piezoelectric properties are required. It has excellent resistance to acids, bases, solvents, ultraviolet (UV) and gamma radiation. PVDF offers remarkable fire resistance, high chemical resistance and exceptional mechanical strength. It performs well in tension, bending, torsion and compression, while maintaining elasticity, surface hardness & dimensional stability. Notably, PVDF absorbs little to no water after 24 hours of exposure and will not change in a wet environment.
