PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) exhibits excellent heat and chemical resistance, good electrical insulation and inherent flame resistance. Its high hardness and rigidity at elevated temperatures allow good load-bearing performance. PPS also has good dimensional stability and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its melting temperature is 281 °C and its continuous-use temperature in air is 200 °C.
