Why use PTFE fasteners?

PTFE provides low friction and excellent electrical insulation. It is chemically inert to acids, alkalis, fuels and solvents, making it relevant where a fastening is exposed to chemical contact. Molten alkali and fluorine gas are exceptions to that chemical resistance.

What can PTFE threaded rods be used for?

Fully threaded rods can be cut to length for spacers, standoffs, hanging arrangements and jigs. PTFE has high thermal expansion, so dimensional change matters where rod length or joint position must remain closely controlled. Hex head bolts provide a separate headed fastening format for assembly and repair work.
