- Fully threaded, with a metric thread and 1 mm pitch; the knurled head gives a firm grip for tightening and adjusting by hand, without tools
- Acrylic is strong and rigid, much more impact-resistant than glass and about half its weight
- Clear, lightweight and moisture-resistant; acrylic and polycarbonate are similar plastics, often used interchangeably
- The slotted head also takes a flat-blade screwdriver for final tightening; also called knurled screws or finger screws
